Odessa Jackalopes Announce Annual Pink in the Rink Event

ODESSA, TX (KWES) -

The Odessa Jackalopes announced their Pink in the Rink event will take place October 22 through 24.

The event is presented by Odessa Regional Medical Center in observance of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

All proceeds collected throughout the three-game weekend will go to Pink the Basin, which provides mammograms and prosthesis for women and men throughout the Permian Basin.

The Jackalopes will wear specialty pink jerseys throughout the three-day event, and fans can bid on them after Saturday's game.

On Thursday and Friday, fans are encouraged to wear pink and receive a free ticket to a game.

The Odessa Jackalopes donated an estimated $52,000, in their 2014-2015 season, to various charities and organizations and plan to donate just as much in their 2015-2016 season.

For tickets, you can call the Jackalopes' ticket office today at 432-552-7825 or log on to www.jackalopes.org for more information.

More than half of the 17 people killed when a tourist boat sank on a Branson lake were members of the same Indiana family, and they likely wouldn't have been on the ill-fated trip but for a ticket mix-up.
