Argument Over Parking Lot Access Results in Shooting

HOBBS, NM (KWES) - Gunfire erupted at a Hobbs hotel Wednesday evening, and police say multiple people were shot.

Hobbs Police responded to Brentwood Inn and Suites in the 5000 block of North Lovington Highway in reference to "shots fired".

Police say it all started when Thomas Prince, 50, and Ralph Nunez, 58, got into an argument over access to the Brentwood Inn and Suites parking lot.

According to the report, the parking lot was under construction.

During the argument, another man, Natividad Nunez, 50, got involved.

Police say Prince then got a revolver from his car and fired the gun several time.

Natividad and a fourth man, Daniel Nunez, 26, were both hit.

Natividad was treated and released, but Daniel remains in critical condition at a Lubbock hospital.

After the shots were fired, police say a separate car driven by Joseph Behm, 23, pulled up and shot at Prince's car as it left the hotel parking lot.

Prince called the police after leaving the hotel to report the incident and was met by officers in the 6600 block of North Lovington Highway.

Prince was treated for minor injuries.

Behm was on scene when officers arrived and did not sustain any injuries.

Price was arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated battery while Behm was arrested and charged with shooting at or from a motor vehicle.
