MIDLAND, TX (KWES) - A big project to reconfigure Interstate 20 ramps that service West Loop 250 and rebuild frontage roads is scheduled to begin in late October.
Reece Albert Inc., based in San Angelo won the project with a low bid of $8.726 million.
Drivers can expect several traffic pattern changes for the project.
Ramp locations will be adjusted, deceleration lanes will be added on Interstate 20 and turn lanes will be added on the frontage roads.
The Texas Department of Transportation encourages drivers to find alternative routes if possible and to obey all traffic signs.
The speed limit in the 1.4-mile area will be reduced to 55 miles per hour during the project.
Work is expected to last nearly one year.
