Hobbs Man Arrested After Driving Drunk

HOBBS, NM (KWES) -

A Hobbs man is in jail after being accused of drinking and driving.

Jose Quintero, 31, was spotted by a Hobbs police officer when he tried to park his pickup on a curb.

The officer noticed Quintero had blood shot eyes, smelled like alcohol and had slurred speech.

Quintero failed several field sobriety tests. 

Police also say a small bag of cocaine was found on him, as well as an empty beer bottle.

Quintero was arrested and charged with possession of cocaine, driving under the influence and having an open container in a vehicle.

    Ector County Sheriff's Office have issued a warrant for 27-year-old Jesus Cajica Zermeno. Zermeno is accused of shooting and killing one man on the 12000 block of Citiation Drive and injuring another in mid-November.
