A man is dead after a shooting that happened overnight.

Deputies responded to an RV park in the 2500 block of Alturas at about 1:25 a.m. regarding a gun shot victim.

When deputies arrived, they were flagged down and led to a man who they say was covered in a blanket.

A witness advised that the victim had been visiting at her residence and had overheard the man arguing with someone on the phone.

The witness could see that the man was visibly upset and said he was going to leave because he felt threatened. Ten minutes later, the witness heard what sounded like a gun shot outside.

That's when police say the witness grabbed a knife, went outside and found the victim on the ground.

Other witnesses told deputies they heard male voices and then, one gun shot.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. No arrests have been made, and the shooting is currently under investigation.

The victim's name is unknown.
