Two Arrested After Multiple Narcotics and Weapons Found in Home

MIDLAND, TX (KWES) -

Two Midlanders were arrested Tuesday after an undercover narcotics investigation.

Midland Police and the Drug Enforcement Agency of Midland obtained a federal search warrant on October 6 in the 5100 block of Ric Drive.

When officers and agents arrived, they found crystal methamphetamine, heroin, crack cocaine, powder cocaine and marijuana.

Police also found a hand grenade, four handguns, one shotgun and an AR-15 rifle in seemingly strategic places throughout the home, along with protective body armor and a police radio scanner.

Jesus Gonzales, 26, and Ashleigh Bennett, 19, were arrested and charged for possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and are facing additional pending charges.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms says the hand grenade was a live explosive.

The investigation is ongoing.
