Man With Machete Shot by Deputies

ECTOR COUNTY, TX (KWES) -

A chase Sunday morning in Ector County lead to the suspect being shot by deputies. The Ector County Sheriff's Office tells us they were called to the 6700 block of Ector Street where the man was threatening a woman with a machete. When they got there the man had already taken off in a vehicle. They tracked him down and tried to pull him over and that's when the chase began. The dispatcher told authorities the caller said quote "if deputies get involved, it's not going to be good". The suspect finally pulled over in the 5200 block of West 40th Street. Deputies were ready with their weapons drawn when the suspect got out of the vehicle with the machete in hand and charged at deputies. Three of them fired their guns at him. No deputies were hurt in the shooting. The suspect was taken to the hospital. His injuries are unknown at this time and his name has not yet been released.
