Bankhead Highway Convoy Arrives in the Basin

Midlanders welcomed the Military Appreciation's Bankhead Highway Convoy on Thursday.

The convoy passed through with around 65 privately owned historic military vehicles.

The convoy included motorcycles, jeeps, large cargo trucks, some even dated back to world war one.

Newswest9 spoke with one volunteer who says this is truly a living legacy.

"When you look around, we are mostly Vietnam veterans and World War II veterans, I think one gentleman is on a motorcycle. So this really has become the ground forces legacy of the greatest generation, World War II vets," said Randy Parent, Public Relations Volunteer.

From here, they will continue on their route to San Diego.
