Man Arrested For Fighting With Police, Driving Under the Influence

MIDLAND, TX (KWES) -

Driving while under the influence and getting rough with an officer landed a Midland man behind bars.

It all started when Christopher Ibarra, 22, nearly ran into an officer's car.

The officer then tried to pull him over but he sped off and led police on a short chase.

The chase it ended at a home on West Dengar Avenue.

Officers fought to get Ibarra under control.

During the scuffle, Ibarra got an arm free, wrapping it around the neck of one of the officers.

He was eventually taken into custody.

Marijuana was also found in his vehicle.

Ibarra is facing multiple charges including evading and resisting arrest, assault on a police officer, DWI and possession of marijuana.

He is being held on a $50,000 bond.
