HOBBS, NM (KWES) -

Hobbs has elected a new District 3 Commissioner.

Hobbs native, Patricia Taylor, was elected by a 5-1 vote.

She looks forward to furthering the process of construction upgrades in District 3.

Taylor says she sees potential in the younger members of the district due to their present-day participation.

"I need your participation, I need your voice. Please contact me. I am available and want to know your concerns," said Taylor.

Commissioner Taylor also said the number of District 3 residents in attendance for Thursday's meeting was encouraging.
