ANDREWS COUNTY, TX (KWES) - A Hobbs, New Mexico, man is dead and another is recovering following an afternoon accident in Andrews County.
The accident happened Sunday afternoon just after 3 p.m. on State Highway 176, about 10 miles west of Andrews.
DPS Troopers tell NewsWest9, a 2003 Ford F-150 was traveling at an unsafe speed for wet roads and veered into the westbound lane of Highway 176 and collided with a 2003 Peterbuilt.
A passenger in the F-150, Jesus Ivan Loya Cereceres, 18, of Hobbs, New Mexico, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the F-150, Mario Rios, 19, of Hobbs, was injured in the accident and taken to Medical Center Hospital where he is currently listed in stable condition.
