MIDLAND, TX (KWES) - The Sibley Nature Center held their first annual Sibley Nature Festival Saturday.
It was all to celebrate the history and nature of our own backyard here in the basin.
"This is actually a big community outreach," said Autumn Vest, the Executive Director with Sibley. "We just want to remind people in Midland of this amazing treasure, which is a 49-acre property of trails, people can come out and enjoy every day of the week. We have a center with some really wonderful exhibits. We have some great volunteers that people can learn from about the nature and history of our community."
At the festival they had several guest speakers, such as Henry Crawford, who even did a reenactment of the buffalo soldiers., and beekeepers were out to educate people about bees in our area.
The girl scouts were also there and helped with face painting and crafts for the kids.
