ODESSA, TX (KWES) - An Odessa murder from 2011 finally came to a close.
Trevor Atchison pleaded guilty to one county of murder and two counts of aggravated robbery.
He had previously admitted to robbing and shooting Evan Fitts.
It all happened near Sherwood Park.
According to witnesses, three people, including Fitts, were seen jumping out of a moving truck.
Fitts was shot in the back before he jumped out.
Police were able to put Atchison at the scene of the crime thanks to his ankle monitor.
He was arrested in 2011 but deemed incompetent to stand trial and was sent to a mental hospital.
Atchison was sentenced to 20 years in prison.
