MIDLAND, TX (KWES) - Midland Municipal Court is having a video contest for students.
Grades 7 through 12 can participate by recording and submitting a one to two minute YouTube video about the dangers of texting and driving.
Students are welcome to make a funny or serious video, as long as the video delivers the message that texting and driving is dangerous.
The one rule is the students may not actually text and drive in the video. Any videos that break this rule will be disqualified.
All videos can be submitted to email@example.com.
The winner will be announced during Municipal Court Week, which is November 2 through November 6.
Students attending Teen Court can get community service credit by participating in the contest.
The contest starts the same day as Midland's texting and driving ban, Thursday, October 1, and submissions will be accepted until October 23.
