UPDATE: Student Who Made Threat Toward Midland Coach Located

MIDLAND, TX (KWES) -

UPDATE: 

We have an update on a story that NewsWest 9 reported on Tuesday about a student who threatened a football coach at Midland Freshman High School on Monday after school.

Midland ISD administrators tell NewsWest9, the student who made the threat has been located.

Administrators say they will continue to have a police officer assigned to the campus but the threat has been addressed.

Police are on the lookout for a student after a threat was made towards a Midland Freshman High School Coach.

Administrators with the Midland Independent School District tell NewsWest9, the incident happened on Monday afternoon during after-school football practice.

According to the press release, a student, who was not a member of the football team, made a threat toward a Midland Freshman Coach and left the school.

As a precaution, police attempted to locate the student but the student wasn’t found.

Administrators say until the student is found, Midland Police and Midland ISD Police will continue to search for the student and there is also a police officer assigned to the campus.
