Big Spring City Council Approves New Tax Rate

BIG SPRING, TX (KWES) -

There's a new tax rate in Big Spring.

The city council approved the new rate at their meeting.

It's about 77 cents per $100 property value.

That's a slight decrease compared to the previous rate.

City officials say it'll bring in a little more revenue for the city.

The council also approved the Economic Development's budget.

It includes focusing on the development of the city's air and industrial park facilities.

Officials say $3.2 million will go towards rail development and $20,000 for a 3D model and animation to help promote the air park to new clients.
