Ector County Man Found Guilty of Murder, Intoxication Manslaughter

ODESSA, TX (KWES) -

An Ector County jury has reached a verdict in the case against a man accused of murder and intoxication manslaughter.

The jury found Carroll Carpenter, 53, guilty on both charges after two and half hours of deliberations on Friday.

Carpenter was indicted by a grand jury in last year after prosecutors said Carpenter caused a deadly accident in December of 2013.

Carpenter has faced two other DWI charges in the past, one in 1997 and the other in 2000.

Sentencing is expected on Monday at 9 a.m.
