Two Airlifted to Hospital After Home Explosion in Gaines County

GAINES COUNTY, TX (KWES) -

Two residents in Gaines County were airlifted to Lubbock after their home exploded.

It happened Tuesday just before 5:00 p.m. at 126 County Road 318-M.

The Gaines County Sheriff's Office tells us sheriff's deputies, the Seminole Fire Department and Seminole EMS were dispatched in reference to a fire with possible injuries.

When they arrived, they found out an explosion occurred inside the residence that caused injuries to two people.

Both residents suffered burn injuries from the fire, and are currently in critical condition in a Lubbock hospital.

An investigator with the Texas State Fire Marshal's Office arrived on scene. The fire is still under investigation by the State Fire Marshal's Office and the Gaines County Sheriff's Office.

No foul play is suspected.
