Oncor Investigates Worker's Death

MONAHANS, TX (KWES) -

Oncor is investigating after the death of an employee.

Funeral services were held Tuesday for 49-year-old Mark Ochoa of Monahans.

Oncor spokesperson, Sue Mercer, said Ochoa was dispatched out on a call about a power outage in Kermit on Thursday, September 10.

When he did not respond to calls or check in, Mercer said another worker was sent to check on him.

Ochoa was found unresponsive and was pronounced dead by EMS.

Mercer said they are waiting on autopsy results to confirm what caused his death.

She said it could take four to six weeks for the results to come back.

Ochoa worked for Oncor for 17 years.

Mercer described him as an excellent employee that always tried to do the right thing.
