Man Arrested For Failing to Comply With Sex Offender Registration

ODESSA, TX (KWES) -

Odessa Police arrested a man on Friday after police responded to an attempt to locate call.

Authorities tell NewsWest 9, dispatch reported to the officers that a Jason Heffington, 41, was in the area of 52nd Street and Dixie.

When officers arrived, they spotted a man matching the suspect’s description at the 7-11.

Police say an investigation revealed that Heffington was staying at a trailer in the 4000 block of North Golder when his registration address was in the 200 block of East 89th Street.

Heffington was arrested after it was determined that he was staying at an unreported and unregistered address.

Heffington has been charged with failure to comply with sex offender registration requirements.

    Ector County Sheriff's Office have issued a warrant for 27-year-old Jesus Cajica Zermeno. Zermeno is accused of shooting and killing one man on the 12000 block of Citiation Drive and injuring another in mid-November.
