Inmate Walks Away From Federal Prison Camp in Big Spring

BIG SPRING, TX (KWES) -

Authorities are searching for an inmate that walked away from a minimum security federal prison camp in Big Spring.

According to a press release from the U.S. Department of Justice, Armando Haro Gallegos, 50, was discovered missing from the prison camp on Monday morning.

Gallegos is described as a Hispanic male, 5’7” tall and weighing 200 pounds.

Gallegos was sentenced to a 140 month prison sentence for conspiracy to possess with the intent to distribute.

Authorities say the U.S. Marshals Service and several other law enforcement agencies have been notified and an internal investigation is underway.
