1 Killed, 3 Injured in Midland County Accident

MIDLAND COUNTY, TX (KWES) -

A Midland woman is dead and three others are recovering after a weekend accident.

The accident happened at 1:45 a.m. Sunday morning on State Highway 349, about 1.5 miles south of Midland.

DPS Troopers tell NewsWest9, a 2005 GMC Yukon disregarded a stop sign while traveling westbound on West County Road 130 and collided with a 2007 Nissan Maxima that was traveling northbound.

Authorities say the collision caused the Yukon to overturn.

A passenger in the Nissan Maxima, Laura Bonilla, 23, of Midland, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two other people in the Maxima, Michelle Bustamante, 29, of Midland, and Gabriel Barela, 29, of Midland, were taken to Midland Memorial Hospital along with the driver of the Yukon, Ruth Jasson, 23, of Midland.

There’s no word on any of their conditions.
