MIDLAND, TX (KWES) - Sunday, September 13 marks the 40th birthday for the Permian Basin Petroleum Museum.
The museum notes that back in 1975, 40 years ago, oil was about $7.75 per barrel, and the average cost of a gallon of gas was 44 cents. President Gerald Ford also paid a visit to Midland for the grand opening of the new museum.
Visitors come from all over the world to step foot in the Petroleum Museum, and the museum hopes that tradition can continue for another 40 years.
To celebrate it's 40th birthday, the museum is open to any donations. If you'd like to help, visit http://petroleummuseum.org/donate/?utm_content=ce5883cfe7d5e9af5faab266c29c92ca&utm_campaign=40%20for%2040&utm_source=Robly.com&utm_medium=email
