ODESSA, TX (KWES) - What better way to kick off football season than with some cheer?
Sunday, September 13 kicks off National Assisted Living Week. To celebrate, Brookdale Sherwood in Odessa decided to put their own little twist on the occasion.
They brought in the Shout Cheerleading Squad, who helped local seniors also ring in the beginning of football season. It was Brookdale Sherwood's first annual tailgate party.
"Our inspiration was that our residents love football. They love football season. Being a part of West Texas, football is in everything we do this time of year. So we wanted to bring a little bit of that to them here," said Carrie Rathbone, Executive Director of the Brookdale Sherwood Assisted Living Facility.
There was plenty of food and dancing, and residents dressed to support both professional and local football teams.
