The Texas Department of Family and Protective Services is urging parents to watch children around the water during this Labor Day holiday.
A lot of families will be headed to pools or lakes this weekend.
They say Texas is on pace to surpass last year's total of 73 child drownings.
68 children have drowned so far this year.
They say children and under are more likely to drown inside the home in bathtubs or toilets.
Older children are more likely to drown in the pool or in bodies of water.
They're urging parents to keep an eye at all times and never leave them alone.
