Passing lanes are on the way to a portion of Highway 176 in Andrews County.
Texas Department of Transportation officials tell NewsWest 9, the project will add alternating passing lanes from just south of FM 181 to just north of FM 1967.
Officials say the project will also rehabilitate existing pavement to improve deteriorating pavement conditions.
The speed limit in the area will be reduced to 45 miles per hour.
TXDOT officials say the project will take nearly a year to complete.
