ODESSA, TX (KWES) - One woman is behind bars accused of driving while intoxicated with a child passenger.
Odessa Police tell NewsWest 9, they were called out to the 3800 block of North Grandview in reference to a crash.
Police say an investigation revealed that a silver 2007 Nissan Altima struck a tan 1998 Chevrolet Silverado.
When police arrived at the scene, the Nissan Altima was on fire and officers saw two children in the back seat of the car.
The two children, a 5-year-old male and an 11-year-old male, were able to get out of the vehicle.
The driver, Monica Adame, 32, was identified as the driver of the Altima.
Authorities say as they were talking with Adame, they could smell a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from her breath.
Adame was later arrested after failing field sobriety tests.
