18-Wheeler Hits Power Pole, Causes Two ECISD Schools to Cancel

ODESSA, TX (KWES) -

ECISD officials have announced that Crockett Middle School and Pease Elementary have canceled school for Monday.

ONCOR Officials tell NewsWest 9, an 18-wheeler struck the power pole around 9:30 a.m. Monday morning causing ECISD officials to cancel school.

ECISD is asking parents of Pease students to begin picking up their students at any time. Any Pease students still at the school at noon will be bussed to the PE Gym at Odessa High School to be given lunch and wait for parents to pick them up there.

All Crockett students will be bussed to the fieldhouse at Odessa HS as soon as possible and that is where parents can pick them up at any time.

In all cases, parents must present ID in order to be matched to their student for pick up. We will have staff members with the students throughout the day to take care of those whose parents can’t get until the end of the school day.

The outage affected about 200 people for most of the day but power has since been restored.
