ODESSA, TX (KWES) - It was quite the shock Tuesday morning for many shoppers at Music City Mall.
Dillard's was swarmed with police and the store was evacuated. Dozens of shoppers fled to the parking lot after Odessa Police got word of a possible threat to the retail store.
At 11:40 a.m. Tuesday morning, an unknown man called the business and threatened to drive through the front entrance and bomb the Dillard's.
"The bomb squad was called to the scene and they searched the area and they did not locate any bombs. They did not find any evidence of any bombs," Cpl. Steve LeSueur of the Odessa Police Department told NewsWest 9.
Odessa Police are investigating this crime as an attempted robbery since the unknown caller made the threat in an effort to get money from the Dillard's.
