It's the 2nd day of the Texas Thunder country music festival. Thousands of people are out in Gardendale enjoying the music. Tracy Lawrence took the stage Saturday night and got the crowd ready for the headliner, Big and Rich. NewsWest 9 talked with the opening act, some really cool guys called 'The Cadillac Three'.
"We're just looking forward to playing. That's the best part of the day. Getting up on stage. Getting to play for people. So we can't wait to get up there in a minute," said Neil Mason, a band member of The Cadillac Three.
It's the 3rd time around for the Texas Thunder country music festival to be in Gardendale, and it's the biggest year yet with names like Brad Paisley, Florida Georgia Line, Tracy Lawrence, and Big and Rich, just to name a few.
"You give everybody, you give country music fans a wide spectrum of, you know you get to see everybody at these things. That's the only reason festivals, you know that's why we play 'em, because it's so diverse," Jaren Johnston, a band member of The Cadillac Three.
Thousands of country music lovers come out for the three day festival.
"You're silly if you don't. If you like to have fun come out," said Frankie Kennedy, who was at Texas Thunder.
"We're looking forward to a really good show. Last night was awesome," said Kathy & Calvin Roquemore, who were at Texas Thunder.
The Cadillac Three says the are especially grateful for the west Texas audience.
"It was the first place that we came when we started touring with this band through Arkansas and Texas over and over again. It's just been honestly some of our earliest supporters and we haven't been back here in a minute so it's really good to be back," said Mason.
It's not to late to come out to Texas Thunder. The music keeps going until 1:00 a.m. every night. You definitely want to make it out Sunday because Florida Georgia Line will take the stage.
