Man Shot Outside Big Spring Bar, Suspects At Large

BIG SPRING, TX (KWES) - Police are investigating a shooting at CC Nites that left one man in serious condition.

Officers were dispatched to the bar at 4th and Abrams Street around 12:20 a.m. on Friday, according to a press release from Big Spring Police.

Eladio Zubiate, 39, was taken to Scenic Mountain Medical Center Hospital with multiple gunshot wounds to his abdomen, hip and leg. He was later flown to University Medical Center Hospital in Lubbock, the press release stated.

The shooter or shooters remained at large Friday night, officials confirmed.

A man who witnessed the incident told NewsWest 9 "gunshots [were] going off left and right."

He said the victim was talking to friends in the CC Nites parking lot when four men pulled up in a black, two-door Honda Civic and started shooting from across the street.

"They were on the other side of W 4th... and next thing you know, they start shooting off guns," the witness said.

He requested to remain anonymous.

The press release issued by Lt. Brian Gordon described the getaway vehicle as a gray 2003 Chevrolet Avalanche and had no mention of a black Honda Civic.

Calls and emails to Big Spring Police went unanswered.
