New Details in Case of Infant Found Unconscious in Odessa

ODESSA, TX (KWES) -

We're getting our first look at the mother and grandmother who were arrested for leaving six children alone at a home in Odessa.

One of those children, a 5-week-old baby girl, was found unresponsive.

18-year-old Ember Lajuanie and 37-year-old Rendi Lajuanie are charged with six counts of child endangerment.

If convicted, they could face up to 20 years behind bars.

On Tuesday, Odessa Police say the two women left five children at a home in the care of a 10-year-old.

An emergency call was made for the baby when it was discovered she wasn't breathing.

The infant was flown to Lubbock in critical condition.

There's still no word on what caused the baby to stop breathing.
