MIDLAND, TX (KWES) - The Midland County Fair kicked off on Friday and more than 16,000 people are expected to attend this year. For all of you thrill seekers, the carnival is up and running. Everything within the fence of the carnival is brought to you by Wright's Amusement and they're here to ensure you have a great time.

"Everybody come on out here to the fair, have a great time," said Arnold Morse, head of Wright's Amusement. "Eat some funnel cakes, have a slushie, just come on out and have some fun and ride some rides."

Over the weekend you can check out the many events. Remember, admission is $5.

"Everybody is excited about all of the events, especially with the new pavilion opening," said Executive Director of Midland County Fair, Tammy Dooley. "All of the favorites are here. The petting zoo, the Chase Quine Memorial Bull Riding, the carnival, our food vendors, our creative art blue ribbon and we're just packed full of events for the whole weekend."

There are three entertainment stages set up this year. Friday is Blues and Contemporary Night. Saturday is Texas Country and Family Fun night.

"Everyone loves the entertainment stages, we have three entertainment stages going on simultaneously," said Dooley. "Last night, we opened with Urban Cowboy playing on the amphitheater stage. Everyone loves the entertainment, the petting zoo, the carnival and the rodeo."
