New Mexico State Police have released the identities of the three law enforcement officers involved in a recent deadly officer involved shooting.
State police say they have completed their interviews with the three officers involved.
Those officers who fired their weapons have been identified as Rodney Porter with the Hobbs Police Department, Byron Wester and Hayden Walker, both of the Lea County Sheriff's Office.
The officers were involved in the August 12 shooting death of William Smith, 49.
Smith was a passenger of a car that fled from the officers.
There's still no word on why they fired their weapons but an investigation revealed Smith did have a firearm in his possession.
Smith died at a local hospital.
The officer involved shooting remains under investigation.
