REEVES COUNTY, TX (KWES) - A Pecos, Texas, woman is dead following an accident in Reeves County on Wednesday night.
DPS Troopers tell NewsWest 9, the accident happened on Interstate 20 about six miles west of Toyah.
According to the report, a 2007 Saturn was traveling eastbound on Interstate 20 when it drove off the left side of the road, overcorrected, entered a side skid and went across the center median into the westbound lanes of Interstate 20.
That's when the Saturn hit a big rig traveling westbound.
The collision caused the big rig driver to skid off the road, go across the median, into the eastbound lanes and came to rest in a ditch.
The driver of the Saturn, Sylvia Gallegos, 49, of Pecos, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities reported that Gallegos was wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.
