Fourth Annual City-Wide Prayer

Fourth Annual City-Wide Prayer

ECTOR COUNTY, TX (KWES) - School is nearly here and several area churches are praying a good year for the students.

Churches within the group One Accord gathered Saturday on the steps of the Ector County ISD Administration Building to join together to pray for area schools.

This is the fourth annual city-wide prayer gathering, but it's not just a "once a year" prayer.

The organizer of the event says it's the actions that go on all year for the kids.

"It's the action and the prayers that are going on throughout the year that are making the difference," said Tammy Stallcup. "If we do this once, and then go home and say 'okay, we got that done' it didn't help very much."

One Accord is a loosely formed group of churches that have committed to pray for schools. Each church that participates volunteers to pray for one or two schools and act as their support system.
