MIDLAND, TX (KWES) - Three men were arrested Wednesday morning for a double homicide that Midland Police described as "heinous."
Trace Roland, Ryan Green and Sean Jobe are all charged with murder. Bond has been set at $1 million each.
"[The crime involved] shooting the victims, then setting the trailer on fire," said Midland Police Chief Price Robinson. "I mean, how much worse can you get?"
Officials found the bodies of 19-year-old Haley Millan and 25-year-old Aaron Jarmon around 2:30 a.m. on July 17 after responding to a fire in the 6300 block of Kanawha.
The couple was found inside a burning shed-like structure next to a mobile home, police said, and each had multiple gunshot wounds.
Kathy Paredez, the neighbor who called 911 after noticing the trailer fire, said the crime gave her "an eerie feeling."
"It was so close to home," she told NewsWest 9. "I remember all the embers... and then the black smoke coming and a multitude of cop cars."
A dispute involving drugs may have played a role in the shooting, according to police.
"I'm glad that we have those three actors identified and in custody," Robinson said of the triple arrest. "The facts of this case... [were] kind of a shocker."
He said the deaths of Millan and Jarmon were the sixth and seventh murders investigated this year by Midland Police.
"Our homicide rate is not very high in Midland, so a double homicide obviously is very unusual for us," city spokesperson Sara Bustilloz said.
