Two Arrested Following Traffic Stop in Odessa

ODESSA, TX (KWES) -

Two people are behind bars following a traffic stop in Odessa on Monday night.

Odessa Police tell NewsWest 9, they saw a black 2001 Ford F-150 traveling northbound in the 100 block of North Grant with the front passenger not wearing a seat belt.

Police later conducted a traffic stop and identified the driver as Andres Roman, 34, and the front passenger as Yesica Castillo, 36.

According to the report, an investigation revealed that Rom had six outstanding warrants.

Officers also saw drug paraphernalia on both front seats and found a loaded handgun in the center console.

Further investigation revealed that both Roman and Castillo were convicted felons.

Roman was arrested on charges of unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, driving while license invalid with prior convictions, no proof of insurance with prior convictions and for six outstanding misdemeanor warrants.

Castillo was arrested for unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon.

Both are behind bars at the Ector County Law Enforcement Center.
