Early Morning Shooting Under Investigation in Ector County

ECTOR COUNTY, TX (KWES) - Officials are investigating following an early morning shooting in Ector County.

The Ector County Sheriff's Office tells NewsWest 9, the shooting happened in the 1000 block of Edgeport early Sunday morning.

When deputies arrived, they learned that the victim's family was out in the front yard for a barbeque when two vehicle drove around the neighborhood a couple of times then stopped in front of their house.

Deputies say multiple gunshots were fired from the vehicle and one person was hit along with a pickup that was parked in front of the house.

The victim, Robert Rey Rodriguez, 26, was shot in the lower waist and taken to the hospital by private vehicle and was released from the hospital on Monday.

According to the report, the vehicles involved in the shooting were described as a dark colored Lincoln and a white mid-sized SUV.

No arrests have been made yet in connection with this shooting.
