Two Odessa Women Arrested After Drugs, Human Feces Found Near Children

ODESSA, TX (KWES) - Two Odessa women have been arrested on numerous charges followed a wanted subject call.

Odessa Police tell NewsWest 9, officers were called out to the 6800 block of Stevenson Avenue in reference to the wanted subjects.

Police say while they were on the scene, Jennifer Brown, 33, tried to shut the door on the officers before they could make contact with her. She was immediately detained, along with Crystal Dodson, 39.

Dodson and Brown were taken into custody for felony parole violation warrants and Child Protective Services was notified for Brown's children.

According to the report, as detectives were escorting the children out of the home, one of children accidentally hit a dresser causing a crystal like substance, along with several new and used needles, to fall off the dresser.  A printer and copier commonly used for printing or altering stolen checks.

Police say after getting a search warrant, detectives found black mold spread over the drywall and investigators also found a portable toilet in the children's room with fly-covered human feces.

Investigators say they found heroin in a lower dresser drawer, which could have been easily accessed by the children. A bag of methamphetamine was also found under a couch.

Further investigation found that Dodson and Brown were the suspects who were involved with a forgery back in May where checks were being passed at numerous locations, including CVS Pharmacy.

Both Dodson and Brown later admitted to passing forged checks and receiving benefits from the profits.
