Woman Admits to Stabbing Common-Law Husband in Odessa

ODESSA, TX (KWES) - One woman is behind bars on aggravated assault charges following a domestic disturbance call in Odessa.

Odessa Police tell NewsWest 9, they were called out to the 1000 block of West Monahans in reference to the domestic disturbance.

According to the report, as officers were responding to the area dispatch reported a stab victim had been taken to Medical Center Hospital and the suspect fled the scene in a purple sedan.

After an attempt to locate was placed, officers found a vehicle matching the suspect's description in the 100 block of East Pool Road.

A traffic stop was conducted and the driver was identified as Kandria Andrews, 27 and officers also made contact with the victim, who was later identified as Edward Allen, 39.

Officers learned that Allen had sustained a stab wound to his chest and is currently in intensive care at Medical Center Hospital.

Andrews was taken to the Odessa Police Department for questioning.

Andrews later admitted to stabbing her common-law husband with a kitchen knife after they got into an argument.

Witnesses also told police that Andrews had stabbed Allen and fled the scene.

Andrews is currently behind bars on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
