ODESSA, TX (KWES) - One Midland man is behind bars following an incident on Tuesday night in Odessa.
Odessa Police tell NewsWest 9, officers responded to the 200 block of East 7th Street in reference to a crash.
Police say an investigation revealed that a white Cadillac CTS failed to control speed while traveling westbound in the 200 block of East 7th Street and the driver crashed into a telephone pole before fleeing the scene of the accident.
Officers later located the suspect's vehicle in the area of 4th and Jackson and later identified the driver as William Antonio Rosales, 20.
According to the report, Rosales had a bag of marijuana in his underwear and officers could smell an odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from him.
Rosales was later taken into custody after failing field sobriety tests.
Further investigation revealed that the Cadillac CTS had been stolen from someone at Twin Peaks.
Rosales has been charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, tampering with physical evidence, possession of marijuana and driving while intoxicated.
