Man Arrested on Burglary Charges

One man is behind bars on burglary charges following an incident in Midland County on Sunday morning.

According to the affidavit, Midland County Sheriff’s Office deputies were called out to a home on South County Road 1200 in reference to a hang up call.

When officials arrived on the scene, they could hear a horn coming from a vehicle that was parked inside of the garage.

Officials say as the deputy approached the garage, they saw a white male with no shirt and had a gun holster around his shoulder.

The man, later identified as Mathew Nietert, 21, told the deputy that he had permission to be at the home but deputies later learned that no one should’ve been at the home.

Once Nietert was detained, deputies found a pistol and two pairs of car keys to the vehicles parked in the garage.

Nietert has been charged with burglary of a habitation and taken to jail.
