HOBBS, NM (KWES)
A couple of scams are going around Hobbs.
The first one is a caller claiming to be with the Internal Revenue Service.
They tell people they've done an income tax audit and that taxes are owed right away.
If they don't pay it, the caller tells them that they'll have a warrant out for their arrest.
Also, scammers are making calls pretending to be with the Hobbs Police Department.
They tell people they're collecting money for body cameras and protective vests and offering to take check or credit and debit card information to process the donation.
Police say these calls are fake and they're mainly targeting senior citizens.
