Two Arrested Following Weekend Incident in Odessa

ODESSA, TX (KWES) - Two people are behind bars on various charges following an incident in Odessa on Sunday afternoon.

Odessa Police tell NewsWest 9, officers executed a search warrant in the 1800 block of North Adams in reference to an aggravated assault suspect.

The suspect, identified as Yancey Laymon, 36, was found inside the home and taken into custody.

According to the report, Laymon was found to be in possession of two Texas ID cards, one Social Security card and several Visa cards. Police say none of the items belonged to Laymon.

Laymon has been charged with aggravated assault discharge firearm causing serious bodily injury and fraudulent possession of identifying information.

During the search, officers made contact with a female subject at the home identified as Yolanda Martin, 43. Officers say they found a bag of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia inside of a bedroom and Martin told them the bag belonged to her.

Martin was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance.
