MIDLAND, TX (KWES) - The Midland Independent School District is asking parents of all Midland ISD elementary school students to provide proof of residence to their elementary office.

School officials tell NewsWest 9, the request is required due to new elementary school boundary lines.

We're told only the proof of residence is required for returning Midland ISD elementary students while any new students to the district are asked to bring the student's birth certificate, Social Security card, shot records and proof of residence.

Officials say a proof of address can be items such as a utility bill, mortgage statement or lease agreement.

If the parent doesn't have one of the items requested, you're asked to contact your student's school.
