MIDLAND, TX (KWES) - Olympic gold medalist Dana Hee visited the BMW of the Permian Basin Saturday for the BMW Drive for Team USA event.
The nationwide event invited the public out to show their support for team USA by test driving a car.
For every test drive, BMW donated $10 to help support Team USA.
BMW is a partner of the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Teams and the official mobility partner of the United States Olympic Committee.
"These days it's all about telecommunications, iPads, iPhone's," Hee said. "Yet when you are involved outside and in an athletic endeavor, you really learn about yourself and I think it helps to help develop your self-confidence, your self-esteem and it's just a great thing."
Dana Hee is a motivational speaker and Hollywood stunt-woman. She won a gold medal in Taekwondo at the 24th Olympic Games in Korea in 1988.
The Drive for Team USA event will support the 2016 Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games in Rio De Janeiro.
