Trace Adkins to Headline Opening Night of Permian Basin Fair

ODESSA, TX (KWES) -

The organizers of the Permian Basin Fair and Exposition have a couple of surprises in store for their 40th anniversary celebration this fall.

The group says they're bringing award-winning country music star Trace Adkins to West Texas as the headliner on opening night.

Adkins is best known for hits like Honky Tonk Badonkadonk and Every Light in the House is On.

The fair will also include performances from two Tejano bands and some new additions to their ground acts.

Organizers said they will also be able to offer $40,000 in scholarships to those competing in livestock events and pageants.

The Permian Basin Fair is set to kick off on September 11.
