BIG SPRING, TX (KWES)
Police are investigating after 14,000 pills were stolen from a Big Spring Pharmacy.
Our radio partners, KBYG Radio in Big Spring, are reporting the burglary happened early Monday morning at Leonard’s Pharmacy on South Scurry.
Big Spring Mayor Larry McLellan told KBYG Radio that two suspects broke a window, grabbed the pills and got out before police arrived. McLellan added that the alarm service at the pharmacy had a six minute delay before notifying police.
The pills included various medications, including Schedule II narcotics.
McLellan says that surveillance video showed what appeared to be a well-planned heist as the two hooded suspects calmly moved around the pharmacy loading their bags.
