MIDLAND, TX (KWES) - A Midland non-profit organization invited people out Saturday to get out of the heat and in a brand new car all for a good cause.
MARC was chosen by Rogers Ford to host the Drive For Your Community Event.
It was a completely free event for the public to get out and get behind the wheel.
Their goal was to get 300 drivers to test drive some of the cars at the dealership, all in an effort to raise over $5,000.
"Ford Motor Company will donate $20 per test drive of one of these beautiful cars or trucks out here, up to $6,000," said Marketing and Development Director, Jean Jones. "We have already decided that whatever money we raise today will go to our Autism Scholarship Fund."
MARC is a non-profit organization in Midland who has programs and services for people with intellectual or developmental disabilities, along with a new autism therapy program.
